Hi there, crafters! Welcome to another tutorial!

This week we’re going to practice our amigurumi skills once again by doing a circle keychain. This is the perfect project if you’ve only tried doing amigurumi shape maybe once or twice. Once you’ve got the hang of it, you’ll be doing stuffed animals soon!

Let’s get started!

Materials:

  • Knitty Pop (or Knitty 4/6/10)

  • Crochet hook (3mm-3.5mm)

  • Scissors

Instructions:

Round 1

Step 1 Work 3 chain stitches

Step 2 Connect your 3rd chain to the 1st chain

Step 3 Work 9 single crochet from the middle

Round 2

Step 1 Work 2 single crochet in each stitch

You should have 18 stitches

Round 3

Step 1 Work 1 single crochet in each stitch

You should have 18 stitches

Round 4

Step 1 Attach a stitch marker on the last stitch

Step 2 Work 1 single crochet on the 1st and 2nd stitches

Step 3 Work 2 single crochets on the 3rd stitch (2 single crochet in 1 stitch is called an increase)

Step 4 Repeat Step 1 & 2

You should have 24 stitches

Round 5

Step 1 Work 1 single crochet on the first 3 stitches

Step 2 Work 2 single crochets on the 4th stitch

Step 3 Repeat Step 1 & 2

You should have 30 stitches

Round 6-8

Step 1 Work 1 single crochet on all 36 stitches

Round 9

Step 1 Work 1 single crochet on the first 3 stitches

Step 2 Insert hook into the 4th stitch and pull the yarn over

Step 3 Insert hook into the 5th stitch and pull the yarn over

Step 4 Wrap your yarn on the hook and pull through

Step 5 Repeat step 1-4 until round completed

You should have 24 stitches

Round 10

Step 1 Work 1 single crochet on the first 2 stitches

Step 2 Insert hook into the 3rd stitch and pull the yarn over

Step 3 Insert hook into the 4th stitch and pull the yarn over

Step 4 Wrap your yarn on the hook and pull through

Step 5 Repeat step 1-4 until round completed

You should have 18 stitches

Filling

Step 1 Insert your stuffing to fill the amigurumi chain

Round 11

Step 1 Work 1 single crochet in each stitch

You should have 18 stitches

Round 12

Step 1

Work a slip stitch on the 1st stitch

Step 2

Skip the 2nd stitch

Step 3

Work a slip stitch on the 3rd stitch

Repeat steps 1-3 until the ball shuts
