Chain 36.  Bag will be worked in spiral rounds

ROUND 1:  3 SC in the 2nd CH from hook.  Mark 1st stitch.  1 SC across, then 3 SC on the

ROUND 2:  1 HDC around, marking first ST

ROUNDS 3-30 1 HDC around, marking first ST.  After completing last round, lay bag flat on the table.  Due to slant of STs when working in spiral crochet, you may not have ended precisely at a corner.  HDC to the nearest corner.  Do not cut yarn.

Turn bag over and lay flat on the table.  Across this back side, mark off 35 STs along the top edge, while at the same time ensuring these 35 STs are centered.  Mark the first and last ST.

ROW 1:  Ch 3, DC into the next ST, FPdc around the next ST. 1 DC into each of the next 2 STS.  FPdc around the next ST. *1 DC into each of the next 2 STS, FPdc around the next st**  Repeat from *to** until the end of the row.  DC into the T-Ch.  Turn.

ROW 2:  Ch 3, DC in the next ST.  FPdc around each of the next 2 STS.  DC in the next ST, FPdc around each of the next 2 STS.  *DC in the next ST, FPdc around each of the next 2 STS**  Repeat from *to** until you reach the end of the row, working your last FPdc around the CH-3.  Turn.

Rows 3-22 – Repeat rows 1 -2 until you reach 6.5 inches of the flap bag.

Row 23 – Ch2, HDC on each ST across.  Weave end and cut.

Sew the button of the bag.

On1 corner of the bag, attach new thread and chain 200. Attach on the other corner of the bag.

Do HDC on each ST across until you reach the 1st corner.  Fasten off, weave ends, and cut.

Affix the button of the bag.
